The Suffolk Punch is currently on the Category 1 endangered species list, with many people caring and taking an interest in the breed but not being able to keep horses for themselves because of the expense and time consuming upkeep.  The passion from the general public towards preserving the Suffolk Punch for the next generation is huge with many people becoming more aware of the plight of the horse and the need to keep the traditional skills of the horsemen from dying out.
